Fill your tanks for Tanksgiving

We headed over to Big Ned for Thanksgiving. We arrived on Wednesday and headed back on Saturday. It takes us about 5 hours to get there now which really stinks since we were only 2 hours before. I'm sure Hubs was cussing me on the drive over for us moving farther away. We decided to go over early on Wednesday to help his mom. She fell on Tuesday and broke her wrist. Therefore cooking Thanksgiving was not going to be possible for her. My SIL and I came to the rescue and checked off everything on her to do list and prepared dinner for her. We had a great dinner and had a great time with family. I wish I would have counted all the games of chess that took place of the 4 days. Here's one holiday down and 2 more to go!!

Baby Graclyn!!! We love us some baby Graclyn...especially Buggers.

New Exhibit at the Zoo

The Waco Zoo opened a new exhibit recently. I've been wanting to take the kids to the zoo to see the new orangatans and komodo dragon. It is such a beautiful exhibit. You can tell alot of thought and money was put into its creation. I love the zoo here in Waco. It kicks the Houston Zoo's arse!! It is all shaded and you get more of an upclose view of the animals than in Houston.

Bubby's Birthday...long overdue!

I know it is really overdue to be posting these pics. But better late than never!!!

It is so hard to believe that my little guy is 5 years old. I'm sure one day I will look back at these pictures and shake my head in disbelief that he was that little. They sure grow up fast!!

School Days are here...

Bubby and Buggers are loving school. They are doing so good. We have been working on things at home just to reinforce what is going on a school. I am so impressed with what they know. I've had to start getting paper at the kindergarten level because they are blowing the PreK stuff out of the water. We made such a great decision by putting them both at their school. I can't wait to see them progress and get better.
Here are their school pictures...Aren't they adorable?!?!

I've been called a lot of things....

Red, Deaner, Haybug, HillHay, Boo...but my favorite one is "mommy girl". We always called Buggers "baby girl". And Bubby says "Heeeey Baby Gurl" to Buggers in the morning or when she gets up from a nap. This morning I was changing Bugger's bed and Bubby comes in and says "Heeeey Mommy Gurl". It was so funny and really brightened my morning.

*** As a side note so I don't forget in many years to come. We saw a grandma's shirt that said "Blake's Honey". It was one of those baseball shirts with the kids number on it that warns you...Better not talk crap on that kid while his "fans" are around. Anyway his other grandma sported a shirt too. It said "Blake's Goofy". Seriously Honey and Goofy are his grandmothers names??? I get Honey and I actually think it a little bit cute...little bit. Goofy is just down right GOOFY!!! And how goofy is that for the kid. "Goofy I need some more milk, Goofy can I spend the night with you? Goofy...Goofy...Goofy!!! Oh my goodness. Anyway that got me thinking "What will I want my grandkids to call me? I came up with a temporary name for my make believe grandchildren that I won't even have for 20+ more years.....Granny Hay! It reminds me of a sweet family friend (Granny Page). I think it is so cute!

Whatcha think...what's your grandma/grandpa name?

Kaska Family Farm

We headed out last weekend to a family farm. It is way out on a gravel road in West, Texas. It is literally the people's backyard. We played Garden Golf, rode a cow train, journeyed through a corn maze, went on a hayride, played in a corn box (instead of sand), picked a pumpkin from the patch, and shot a corn shooter. It was the best wholesome fun you could get. It is really sad that this world has become such a fast paced society and that kids think they need TV or video games to be entertained. My kids had a blast out there and didn't want to leave even though it was pouring down rain.

My two Piggies...

My sweet little babies are holding up really well against the "Pig Flu". They look pretty pitiful but in general are in good spirits. We are pumping them full of motrin, cough syrup and tamiflu. I hate to see my babies so sick and hope for a speedy recovery.

(Yes your eyes are not deceiving you...that is a binky in my 3.5 year old's mouth. And worse yet that is a tiny baby binky that you give to a 6 month old...I promise she won't go to college with it)

Gettin' Piggy wit it

All my fears and worries about the swine flu has officially hit home. Bubby was diagnosed today as a "piggy". As we were awaiting the test results, we get a call from Buggers' school and she is running a fever. So to spare everything the snotty, coughing, squirting, feverish details we are hunkered down here at the house until pigs fly. I made dinner tonight and you guessed it....pigs in a blanket!!! (I'm lovin' all the pig references)
