Loser Lohan

I am a huge fan of smut gossip. I love reading about celebrities and all their messed up lives. I know I am feeding the frenzy for them doing all the crazy things which gets them into magazines and online blogs. It is so funny how they parade around and showcase their lives. It's like they are prostituting their own lives for the sake of publicity. Take Lindsay Lohan. She goes to rehab because that was the "in" thing to do several months ago. Now that it's "in" to party again so she is partying. And now the "big" thing to do is get lip implants and look like you could audition for Bozo the Clown?!?!? She definitely goes into the ugly category of redheads.

Family and Fun

It was such a beautiful weekend here. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. We spent alot of time outside. Friday I helped at our school dance. Not like dances from my days. No one standing on opposite sides of the gym. On the contrary, everyone one in dancing and some of the them rather close to each other. After the dance I got home and we let the kids go swimming.

Saturday we got up, the kids ate waffles, and we all got ready to go to the movies. We took the kids (for the first time) to the movies to see Shrek. We got there early and that was a good thing because it got pretty full. Even though it was showing on 3 screens at that theater. Kids were pretty good. Aiden fell asleep for about 30 minutes. He woke up and saw about the last 15 minutes. Justin ended up having to leave with Lillie because she was getting fussy and restless. Overall it was a good first experience for them. That is the first time in about 2 years that I have been to the movies so it was a treat for me also. We got home with enough time to let the kids swim again.



On Sunday lillie and I got up early and let the boys sleep in. I watched a movie while she played. After the boys got up, we all went outside and worked in the yard. Of course by that time, Bug was ready for her morning nap. So I let Aiden splash around and swim in his pool. Justin worked on pulling up some bushes on the side of the yard. They were the type with prickly leaves. I have wanted them out since we have lived here (4 years). He may not be timely but he is dependable. He'll get the job done just on his time. Anyway I had a good time with him out there. I had softball practice today also. I joined a league that will play this summer. It should be fun and I look forward to playing. Felt like old days when I used to play.

I love weekends like this. Full of the 2 F's...Family and Fun. I know that sounds corny but it is true. My family is my life!

Time to update all on my trek to lose weight.

Total lbs lost since January--15

I am back to pre-pregnancy weight. I remember going into the doc when I was prego with Aiden and I was 197 at 8 weeks. And I am 11 lbs less than that now. I bought some size 14 jeans about a month ago and I can already pull them off without unbuttonening them. Who-hoo!!! I am running every day to every other day. I am up to 2.5 miles. Which is awesome considering that when I started working out in January I thought I desired a gold medal when I ran for 5 minutes on the treadmill. I am up to running on the street for 30 minutes. There is a quarter marathon in October that I would like to run. That will be alittle over 6 miles. I hope I don't hit a brick wall once summer gets here. It gets so hot that you can hardly stand it. May have to resort to the Y most of the time.

New goal weight--15 more pounds by the end of summer

Camo Baby Shower

Here is my first attempt at a diaper cake. It turned out really cute (thanks leeza). Also here are pics of the Camo baby shower we gave a girl at work today. She is decorating the nursery in camo so we decided to do the shower in the same. We weren't sure how it would turn out but it turned out really cute.

Today my AD (athletic director) was telling me about video a fellow coach emailed us all. I didn't see it because anytime this coach email us I automatically hit delete. Anyway, as my AD is telling me about his video he is so consumed with laughter he can't even talk. His face is turning red and he is on the verge of tears. I'm laughing at him because this is so out of character for him. So we pull it up on the big screen in our large meeting room. He is doubled over laughing hysterically. It is pretty funny. I think I might have seen it before and you probably have too. But if not and you need a laugh today, check out the video.

Take me Away

I can't wait for summer. I am struggling through each day at work knowing that summer vacation is just around the corner. 16 days in fact! I saw this picture today and wished I was laying on the bed, reading a book, and letting the sun shine on my face.

When we move I want a little backyard cottage to have a special place to call my own. I can set up my scrapbooking stuff, paint furniture, and whatever my heart desires.

Please summer hurry...I'm about to lose my mind.

Mom Jean Manager

Remember Meet the Parents? Remember when Ben Stiller's character was boarding the plane and the stewardess was calling each section of the plane and he was the only one standing there waiting to board. She wouldn't let him board until his section was called? Well something similar happened today with me. I about went Britney Spears on a Mom Jean wearing Garden Ridge Manager. They have changed the way that the checkouts are at GR. You now walk down a long aisle then the checkouts are all lined up in a row. (Similar to TJMax in Conroe, Mom) I turned the corner on the long aisle and saw a sign that says wait here for next available cashier. Well I look down and there is only one cashier and he is bagging his customers' items. So I start heading down that way (he is number 2 and it started with 12) slowly giving them time to finish up. When all of a sudden I hear "Ma'am can you please wait by the sign until the next cashier is available." With a puzzled look on my face, I turn around and slowly walk back to the sign where I wait alone. I stand there for all about 5 seconds before she says "Next customer please." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! So with a really pissed off look, I walk back down the aisle of registers to the returns and exchanges register which is right by the manager. She is standing there with her mom jeans and bright orange shirt. I glare at her with this "you've got to be kidding me" look. I could not believe she made me walk back down the aisle. Power Trip!!! I may have to ban GR for a little while like I did Sam Moon. (that's a-whole-nother story)

Tag Sale Tales

I got up early this morning to catch a few garage sales. (I actually caught one yesterday morning on the way to work where I picked up this great little side table for a buck...I'll post pics of it later. still a work in progress) I got some great deals today. I look for things for the kids. Big toys for outside. I picked up a great wagon that will hold both kid (yes I know I already have one..Mom). But this one has seats and cup holders. It was only $8. Then I got Aiden a little trike. (Yes i know he already has one) But this one I can steer it from behind. Plus when Lillie gets bigger she will need one too. So they can both ride together. Felt like I stole it from the lady for only $6. Then I got an assortment of kids books and magazines for me. Spent about $11 on those. I spent about 3 hours out and about today. This is what rejuvenates me and gets me through the week.

Fantasy Life

This is the life that I want. Slow. Steady. Sitting on the front porch watching my kids play in the yard. Not a neighbor in sight. Just the day and time to waste away

Disgusted on a whole 'nother level

Ok I get cloth diapers. I understand they are better for the environment and supposedly better for baby. I can only imagine the number of diapers that end up in landfills every day. However, one thing I can't understand is cloth menstrual pads. Just the thought makes me want to throw up. I came across is in one of the many blogs I read. She was talking about receiving her order for menstrual pads. They are in lucky charms and pink panther printed fabric. I read the comments and they were talking about how to care for them. I guess I am not an environment friendly human because I don't use "cloth mommy pads." I make sure I put a few extra things in the recycle bin this week to make up for not using cloth pads. Ewww it sounds so gross!!

Check out ebay...there are tons of people making and selling these things.

Play Ball!!

I snagged this great bookcase for a mere $20 at a garage sale yesterday morning. It was green but I put a quick coat of black paint on it last night. And Voila!!! I got the canvas baskets at Wally World. Now our living room doesn't look like Toy R Us exploded in our house. I've been looking for something like this. Plus my $20 went to a little league team who is trying to raise money to go to the world series.

My Obsession

Only my closest friends and family know my deep dark secret. And I must say most are ashamed of the fact that I take part in such acts. I love garage sales, bargain hunting, buying other people's junk at discounts, and rummaging through estate sales. I have furnished and decorated my house with about 40% new store bought items and the rest from garage sales, online yard sales, and closeout stores. I get such a high off buying something cheap. I also love sharing with those who will listen to the great deals I got. That is all part of the high...seeing the reaction from others when I say I got a Cozy Coupe Cop car for my toddler for only $5. Maybe it is the hint of jealousy in their eye at the fact that I got such and good deal and they didn't. HeeHee. My hubs gets tired of me coming home with all my treasures. He always doubts me when I bring things in. But he did admit to me once that it usually ends up looking good. He still doubts the fencepost headboards that I got for free that are resting comfortably in the garage until they make their debut. They will make their grand appearance in due time. And make my words it will look great. I am always on the lookout for the next bargain. Right now I am looking for a dresser for my utility room and a entertainment center/armoire for the living room. I refuse to buy new. The minute you leave the store, it loses value. I would much rather spend $25 on a dresser that I may not like in a few months/years than spend $300. Then I will never feel like I can get rid of it. Here are a few pics of my treasures!!

I bought two ceiling tiles from a lady in my town each for only $10!!!

I got the piece of iron above the commode at a garage sale. I got two for $20. They are really heavy and the perfect distressed look.

I bought this dresser for $50. It is really solid and beautiful piece. The wire basket on top was at a garage sale 10 cents. Or atleast that is what I thought when I paid the lady. Once I got it home it said $10. She was crazy to think I was going to pay her $10. I did feel guilty though. I thought about taking it back to her...but only for about 2 seconds.

Dressing Room Surprise

I have really packed on the pounds the past 2 years. I was basically either pregnant or nursing the past two years. Therefore dieting was never really a priority/reality for me. In July I started getting serious about losing weight when my size 18W pants started feeling tight. So for about 4 weeks I tried Nutrisystem. I lost some weight on it. Once school started I stopped doing Nutrisystem and just watched what I ate. Plus I was getting lots of exercise coaching volleyball. I lost quite a bit from July to December. When we returned from Christmas break we started the Biggest Loser competition at school. This is the final week before our final weigh in. I am not going to win the money because other people have lost more weight than I have in the 9 weeks. I have lost a total of 12 pounds so far. Hoping to make it 15 by Friday.

However, I do feel like the biggest loser. I just figured this weekend how much I have lost over the course of 7 months. I have lost 38 pounds!!! Pretty amazing. I am smaller now than I was before I got pregnant with Aiden which was 3 years ago. So I have lost all my baby weight!!!!!! Another thing that was awesome this weekend. I bought a size 14 pair of capris. Again I haven't been that size in 3 years. I could not believe that they zipped up and I could still breath.I was so excited that they even fit that I called Justin to tell him while I was in the dressing room. He didn't really seem too excited for me. You know men they don't know what clothing sizes mean to us women. So I ended up calling my best friend to tell her. She was excited for me. (Thanks Sleez)I was so proud to wear my size 14 pants yesterday. I felt like telling everyone I saw. Of course everyone would have looked at me like I was crazy...but who cares!

I am hoping to hit my goal weight by the time summer rolls around. If I hit my goal weight that means I will have lost a total of 57 pounds!!!

"I do all my own stunts"

That is what A's shirt said today. It was quite fitting since he got his first set of x-rays today. Last night he decided to do some kind of Matrix-like jump off the couch onto L's activity table. Needless to say he needs to work on his landing because he didn't "nail" it. Instead he gets up screaming and limping towards me. We put ice on it the best we could. But it started swelling. He limped around here all evening even trying to chase Abbie with the corn popper. That was a site to be seen. Anyway we sent him to bed hoping that he would get up in the morning walking straight.

He didn't so I called and got him an appt with the doc. The doctor has us get x-rays. That is something that I don't ever want to do again. A screamed like ever hair in his head were being plucked one by one. I was dripping with sweat. It wasn't so bad until the lady had to shoot the last (of 8) xrays 4 times until she got it right. But the way before we started the lady asks me if there is anyway that I may be pregnant. I gasped and almost lost all composure. Pregnant? "I sure hope not" was my answer. Please warn a sister next time you're going to ask me such a loaded question. Let me atleast hold onto something. I feel like I need to be de-jinxed.

Well the doctor called a few hours later to let us know that nothing is broken. Thank goodness. He just has a bad sprain. He is still limping around (kinda breaks your heart). But don't worry I got some video of it. :) Doc says if he doesn't stop limping in 2 days that we need to call. Hopefully it will work itself out. I really don't want to be asked any "Are you pregnant?" questions again any time soon.

Private!!

I recently set my myspace to private, deleted any students on my friend list, and identity proofed my blog. I have really felt that my right to freedom of speech has been violated this past week. Just because I teach means that I can not have any opinions or voice my frustration. Therefore I will crawl back in my shell. What other profession has to keep their opinions, feelings, and life under wraps?
