Springing into our Break

Hubs and I both have Spring Break this week. We started out the break by heading over to Nederland for a few days. We took the kids to the Heritage Festival which is the home town carnival that happens every Spring Break. We saw alot of people we know. Even saw someone that I haven't seen in more than 8 years. Sad to say I couldn't not remember her name or place where I knew her and her husband until we got to talking. We always have a good time seeing people and how much our little town has changed or maybe it hasn't changed and we have. I know after spending a few days there we are so spoiled where we live. God bless Homeowner's associations and fees. I will never curse you again. However it is neat to see all the same ole people who have been around for ages and the community comradre. The hometown spirit hasn't died in that town. And neither has midrifts. I felt like I was surfing "The Shape of a Mother" website while walking around. These women wear their bellies loud and proud on the outside.

After we delighted ourselves on carnival rides and fried oreos, we headed out with the crew to BW3's and then downtown. We had a blast. I don't think I have danced that much since college. My main dance partner was my BIL, Kodean. He was a good sport hanging with his mommyfied SIL. We always have such a good time with the Hooders. And this time Mollster graced us with her presence. She is a hoot even though she drank water like a fish...literally.

After rolling in at a mere 4 am we rose and didn't much shine to get ready to head to Sugartown LA. Hubs' Nuna lives over there and we haven't seen her in over a year. It is always great to see her and especially see her looking so good. The kids loved roaming all over her house mostly looking and terrorizing her cat. Who might I add wasn't opposed to the kids at all. I think it is so neat to look at Hub's grandma and see so much of my mother in law. My MIL has been married for 35 years and not lived in her mother's house for that long and it is amazing how many similarities you see. Even their "grandmothering" tendencies are the same. It is really neat to observe how they both interact with our kids. I wonder if I am the same way with my mother. Anyway we headed back to Nederland for a much needed rest. We all camped out on the couches and watched a movie.

The next day, Monday, Hubs and I headed to our favorite salad and pizza joint. Then headed over to the mall or if that is what you call it. Since the storm things aren't quite the same. After browsing around for a while, we headed for home sweet home.

Spring Break Part 2 to come.

Guess I haven't really been in the blogging mood lately. Hubs and I are both extremely busy and ready to pull our hair out. He admittedly says that he bit off more than he can chew this semester. He is in all senior level classes which all require extreme amounts of time. He is taking 18 hours and watching the kids while I work atleast 50 hours a week.

What were we thinking???????

We have a week until we both get a break and get a chance to act like a normal family. We are going to go to his grandma's in LA next week. It has been over a year since we have seen her. So that will be a treat. We both need to see the eye doctor. This task is not a big deal to him but for me I would rather poke needles in my eyes. I HATE the eye doctor. It is such a horrible experience for a very indecisive person. "Which is better 1 or 2? or 3 or 4?" Are you kidding me they all look the same?!?!?!?! Then I hesitantly say 1 then I can sense the surprise in the doctor's response like I picked the wrong one. Whatever!!! Why can't they just have a machine that prescribes how blind I am. I really need new contacts and glasses. My contacts are going on 2 years old, I know my eyeballs are probably going to fall out or something. And my glasses are about 8 years old. I can barely see out of them they are so bad. I also need to go to the female doc as well during Spring Break. I would much rather go to him than the eye doctor. I know I am crazy but once you have had 2 kids your modesty is gone with the wind!!! And there are no decisions in that office to make. Well except one...birth control...yes or no? And that would be a HELL YES!!!! I am not ready to be mommy to 3 anytime soon. The rest of the time I hope to get the garage cleaned out and spring clean the house. I don't have time but to do the maintenance cleaning during the week. My shower is screaming at me to clean it and my floors could use a good power washing.

Well I have 5 more days until Spring Break. This is a great benefit of being a teacher these little built in vacations. We just hope to make it until next week we both have a daunting schedule this week and will be passing ships many of the nights.

Are you kidding me?????

Two hideous brass deer that hold one taper each. Guaranteed to enhance any side table or mantle with their sheer presence. Who wouldn't want these one of a kind, genuine, authentic pieces of crap...that's right no one and especially for the price of $35 for the pair

Someone on a local online garage sale is trying to rip someone off with these two deer candlesticks. I would love to meet the idiot who buys them!!!

Absentee

I know I have been absent from blogging this week. We had a very busy week with my work and hubs school. The kids spent the week at their g-parents. We spent the whole weekend hanging out with them. They will leave tomorrow again for their other g-parents and stay until Wednesday. I will be so glad when this semester is over so we can be together again as a normal family.

Here are some pics from this weekend.

I'm sure gonna hear it for this one.

Girls just wanna have fun!!!

Some of my friends and I went out last night to dinner then dancing. We had a blast. It was so nice to get out and hang with the ladies. We ate, drank, and danced the night away. They are all single and get to go out and do this routinely. But since I am the only maried one it is a treat for me to get out and go with them (thanks hubby for letting me). Hopefully I can do it again in a few months.

Paradise Lost

Today started out so great. I got to sleep in since basketball is over and I didn't have early morning practice. I got to school and was ready to start the day off with lots of positive energy. I was apart of a group of 8th graders science fair experiment. They are testing the effects of caffeine on heartrate. They took my resting heart rate (66) then I drank a cup of coffee. Then 10 minutes later they took it again (84). Then they took it again 30 minutes later and it was back to 66. Then they told me they would check it out around lunch time. After my contribution to sciencec, I headed down to athletics, which went great. I then decided to treat myself to Target. So 2nd period I headed over to Target. I browsed through the clothes and picked up 2 "wear them on the weekend" vintage tees and Valentines for my babies and hubby.

"Man what a great day this has been!!!"

Key word "has" because it went all down hill from there. Once I returned to school I was bombarded with the crazy menopausal teacher from across the hall. She proceeded to tell me what a failure I am at my team leader position and that I am too busy to do my job and that I should start delegating things out to others. (Even though she so conveniently didn't delegate anything to herself) She actually delegated something to two teachers without their knowledge. As the conversation continued, I am getting upset - crying upset - and I just want this butt chewing to stop. So I get up to go to the bathroom and this lady wants me to hug her. I tell her no I just want to go to the bathroom. As I turn, I see my AP standing in my door with his file folder that symbolizes that "I'm up next" meaning I am going to get evaluated. GREAT!!!! Luckily my kids had A lunch and my class wouldn't start for 30 minutes. But I knew he would be back. So after she left my room, my friend came and ate a quiet lunch with me (Taco Bueno). I wasn't really in the mood to talk about it because I was trying to calm myself down before my evaluation. Lunch is over and kids come in. I guess my friend had told my class that I was having a bad day because they were especially nice to me. Well right on cue my AP walked in and my formal observation began. My kids were phenomenal. I think the best that any class has ever been. They were on task, helping each other, working well in groups, and being attentive. However, I did have two interruptions...a teacher wanting to talk about ESL modifications and the lab rats who needed to take my pulse. Remember them from the morning. Well I was the good teacher and let them take it. I was shocked at the reading...101!!!!!! Who needs to exercise?!?! Just need to get a butt chewing and unexpected observation every day will keep the fat cells away. Oh well.
The rest of the class period went fine. Hopefully my evaluation will read that I am a great multitasker.
The day got somewhat better. I went on to entertain 4th period and babysit 5th. Then I had to do the hardest job, watch 12 girls on the soccer field for an hour and get paid 20 bucks. After that I headed to TJMaxx and shopped for a shirt for this weekend's Dirty Thirty party. I found some great bargains. After sifting through the sale racks, I headed to my sister's to help my niece with her math. I finally got home at 10.

I also miss my babies. They are at Gammaw and Pepaw's until tomorrow. It is so quiet around here. I even got up last night to go check on them like I normally do. I know I should be thankful they are getting to spend time with their grandparents. I just miss their smiling little faces and those adorable giggles.

I am going to try to be on board the Positive train tomorrow as cliche as that sounds. But I can not let someone else control my day and my attitude.I need to bring the paradise back!!

Shake what your momma gave ya!!!!

Boppin' to the Doodles

We were so lucky to get 16 free tickets to see the Doodlebops Live today. One of my basketball player's mom worked for a radio station and they had 16 tickets that were not used. She asked if we wanted them and of course I said Yeah. My BIL, SIL and their 10 month old went with us as well as a coworker and his family and my neighbor and her friend. It was a really fun show. It was just long enough. Buggers loved it. She danced all night. AnnRee did too. She danced so much she fell asleep the last 15 minutes of the show. It was a great time to hang with friends and family. Plus it was cheap fun...only cost $5 for parking. Sorry someone had to pay $10 (heehee)

Big Girls need love too

As most of you know I have been battling my weight for years now. My body never quite recovered after having two kids within 18 months. In college I mostly stayed around a 12/14. I got down to a 10 right before the wedding. That was probably the smallest I have ever been. After having two kids I squeezed my big booty into a 18W. I realized in July 2006 that I had to do something to get my weight under control. I have been working out and cutting calories for a while now. It is nice to finally have my new "diet" as a lifestyle. I try to adjust my calorie intake so I can enjoy the good things in life i.e. Chuy's creamy jalepeno dip...yum.
I decided to post some before and after pics. I haven't wanted to post these due to the shear fact at how big I was. I have worked very hard and it has taken me a year and a half to get back to that 14. I am almost into a 12 and I think 5-10 more pounds will do it.

My weigh in pic for school's Biggest Loser. I weighed in at a whopping 201!! Funny I had already lost about 15 pounds in this picture. I don't have any pics of when I was that big.

Funny I actually thought I was looking pretty good here at my 27th birthday. This is a year ago in January. And no I am not pregnant even though it looks like I am in my 3rd trimester.

Here is me now...
