The Big 3-0

Well the day has finally come...I am now a full fledge member of the 30 Club. Suprisingly enough I am not crying into my pillow about hitting the 30 wall. I am embracing it since well it's about time. I've been married for 8 years, have 2 kids, and a turd...I mean third on the way.

This birthday was the best birthday ever!! Hubs and I went out to dinner with a large group of people on Friday. I felt really special that so many people wanted to celebrate my birthday with me...however they could have just wanted a night out and dinner at Ninfas. Oh well...I'll believe the former. Then on Saturday my sisters suprised me with a prenatal massage at a fabulous spa in town. Yes Waco has fancy-smancy places like this that aren't in the back room of a convenient store. It was so divine!! I can't wait to have another one closer to my due date. Afterwards my parents and sister took me to lunch. Then it was off to Hubs big surprise for me.

Hubs planned a surprise party for me in Houston with all our friends. We ate at Chuy's (my fav of all favs). My bestie Leeza brought decorations and a rockin' cake reminding me that I turned the dirty 30!! Afterwards we went bowling. I was so much fun. Especially the fact that me and Leeza didn't care how many pins we knocked down but only how fast we threw the ball. We stayed at "the to be marrieds" down in Clear Lake. I feel so blessed to have such great friends to spend my birthday with. But in all honesty I am so blessed to have such a great husband and family who made me feel like a queen on my special day.

The Ins and Outs of Prego World...so far

Indigestion, constipation, pimples, mood swings, ligament pains, and frustration finding something to wear is all the lovely side effects of being pregnant. I have been extremely lucky this go around my morning sickness did not cause me to be Mount Eruptus. The nausea just lingered with me from about noon until bedtime. At this time my nausea has all but gone away unless I'm riding in the car. The main thing that I have to complain about is INDIGESTION!!! However with the discovery of a little pill called Zantac my esophagus is finally feeling some relief. The other thing that happens to me when preggers is I develop teenage pimples. It is so annoying being as how I never had to deal with that embarassment as a teenage. And let me tell ya it is great trying to deal with it as an almost 30 year old!! I guess the pimples are an effect of all the hormones coursing through my body. I can blame the hormones on my mood swings too. I have not been Preggerzilla...I just become a Grouchy Grinch. I know it must drive Hubs crazy but he remains patient with me and seems to know when to give me my space. It amazes me how sometimes I feel like the hormones just take over my body and I'm essentially possessed with the Female Demon Estrogen. Another thing is that I'm showing now but it really just looks like I'm showing off a beer gut. I'm in that weird spot of actually being pregnant and just looking like I have a spare tire. I get so frustrated trying to find things to wear. I want to show off my little bump but instead it looks like I'm showing off my tub of love. Doesn't help that I'm already showing quite a bit already at only 14 weeks. Guess that is what happens when this is your 3rd time to saddle up.

You know amidst all these complaints there is nothing better than knowing the amazing feat your body is doing. You are nourishing a baby and protecting it until it arrives in this big bad world. It is an amazing feeling when you feel the baby move in your belly for the first time. Even though the journey getting there is not pretty nor glamourous it is definitely worth every moment.

Knowles knows best...on resolutions

He who breaks a resolution is a weakling;
He who makes one is a fool.
~F.M. Knowles

I think I may have to agree with Knowles on this one. Therefore I am going to keep last year's tradition of making "hopefuls" for the new year. In looking back at my hopefuls of last year I have to say most if not all came through for me. Therefore if it ain't broke don't fix it...

2010 "Hopefuls"
1. I hope for an easy as can be birth of a healthy baby.
2. I hope for a smooth transition of welcoming a new baby into our family especially with our other two kids. I hope they adjust to the new baby well without too much kicking and screaming.
3. I hope to be in a position (whereever it may be) that I can stay home next year with the new one.
4. I hope to continue my quest to becoming a better cook...turning my attention to more classic southern dishes.
5. I hope that hubs and I's happiness and love continues to grow and our trials few so that we may become a stronger couple to take on three children.
6. I hope we can find a church home that we can worship the Lord and fellowship with other Christians.
7. I hope to become a better parent for my children so that they grow into productive, successful, and caring little people.
8. I hope once cleared I can start training again for the half marathon.
9. I hope I ease gracefully into 30 and do so without too much kicking and screaming.

Well there we have it...my hopefuls for 2010!!! Here's to a new year, new decade and new adventures.

Christmas Time is Here!!!

We had a great Christmas filled with family. This year was especially fun for the kids since they were so into Santa and all the beliefs that surround Christmas. It worked in our favor as a discipline tactic too. "Better not do that cause Santa is watching."
My sister and her family came down from Illinois for several days. It was so nice having them around. My kids just loved their cousins. I wish we lived closer.

We traveled over to Nederland on Christmas day to celebrate with Hubs family. We had a good time visiting. The kids love seeing their cousins on that side. It is funny because they are the oldest on that side and the youngest on my side.

All dolled up for Christmas

The kids got all gussied up for their Christmas pics at my mom's house. Aren't they adorable? I know I am biased being their mom but there is no denying that these little smiles and sweet faces aren't adorable. I hope everyone had a great Christmas!!

The stork is coming this summer

Well it's official we are expecting baby number three this summer (July 3rd to be exact). I am almost 14 weeks right now. This baby was more planned than our other two which weren't planned at all. We are looking forward to the arrival of this one but I have to be honest I am little worried. This new baby is going to change the whole dynamics of our family. Bubby and Buggers are so independent right now and are becoming so easy to take places and "deal with". I have heard that going from 2 to 3 was a whole new ball game...going man to man to now playing a zone defense. Hubs and I will officially become out numbered. But in all honesty now that this little one is on its way I feel like our family will be more complete.
We have decided to not find out the sex of the baby until its born. I feel like it is going to be so exciting to hear the doctor say "it's a boy... it's a girl". We found out with the other two so this will be something special with this one. It is driving my family nuts not being able to find out. They are such planners that it doesn't surprise me that it is driving them bonkers. My dad has even said he is going to call the doctor and make her tell him.
We are pretty set on a name if it's a boy...Jansen Paul. Hubs picked it out actually before we got pregnant. He read a book a few months ago whose main character was Paul Jansen. And he really liked the name Jansen. We decided to stick with Paul as the middle since that is Hubs and Bubby's middle names. The girl name is posing more difficulty. We haven't really decided on a name that both of us like. We have Natalie Haley, Brooke Haley, Addie Suzanne, Adelyn Haley, and Macy Suzanne all in the pot. Out of all of them I like Macy the best. I don't know why it is so much harder to come up with a girl name this time. Buggers was so easy since it was a family name that I had wanted since I was a little girl.
Well here's to a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby!!! And to not gaining too much weight that will take me forever to lose... :)

Imagine....

The kids had their annual music program on December 18th. It was absolutely fabulous. They had 88 Pre-K kids on stage singing and dancing for 30 minutes. They did such a great job. The entire school was involved Pre-K3 to 8th grade in the program. The older kids produced all the music for each song by playing drums, triangles, bells, xylophones, and other cool instruments. It was really the neatest program I have ever seen. I can't wait until next year!!

Bubby lost his first tooth on Dec 10th

Before with all his sweet baby teeth

After...Snaggle tooth

It's he adorable!!! I can't help by smile at his beautiful face!!

Terrible Blogger

I have seriously neglected my blog. Not really sure why...might be the fact that I'm addicted to Facebook. Also I get so frustrated with Blogger when I try to post pics. They really need to change their upload feature. It is such a pain in the rear to try and upload pics especially when they are all out of order. Anyway New Year's Resolution...to blog more even if it is for two reasons...so one day I can order a book of my blog and to give Leeza something to do at work. :)

Fill your tanks for Tanksgiving

We headed over to Big Ned for Thanksgiving. We arrived on Wednesday and headed back on Saturday. It takes us about 5 hours to get there now which really stinks since we were only 2 hours before. I'm sure Hubs was cussing me on the drive over for us moving farther away. We decided to go over early on Wednesday to help his mom. She fell on Tuesday and broke her wrist. Therefore cooking Thanksgiving was not going to be possible for her. My SIL and I came to the rescue and checked off everything on her to do list and prepared dinner for her. We had a great dinner and had a great time with family. I wish I would have counted all the games of chess that took place of the 4 days. Here's one holiday down and 2 more to go!!

Baby Graclyn!!! We love us some baby Graclyn...especially Buggers.

New Exhibit at the Zoo

The Waco Zoo opened a new exhibit recently. I've been wanting to take the kids to the zoo to see the new orangatans and komodo dragon. It is such a beautiful exhibit. You can tell alot of thought and money was put into its creation. I love the zoo here in Waco. It kicks the Houston Zoo's arse!! It is all shaded and you get more of an upclose view of the animals than in Houston.

Bubby's Birthday...long overdue!

I know it is really overdue to be posting these pics. But better late than never!!!

It is so hard to believe that my little guy is 5 years old. I'm sure one day I will look back at these pictures and shake my head in disbelief that he was that little. They sure grow up fast!!
