Bugger's First.....

Haircut!!!

Bubby's Diego Party

We had an old fashion birthday party for Bubs today. No big inflatable jumpy things, no clowns, no ponies, no overly expensive party plans at an all inclusive place. Just family, friends, some food, coloring pages, pop the balloon game, trikes, swingset, cake and ice cream. It was nice the kids just played together and the adults just chit chatted. One neighbor said it was nice to just sit and relax and let her daughter play. Bubby seemed to have a great time and enjoy opening presents and playing with his friends.

Happy Birthday Bubby!!

Bubby turned 4 on Thursday. He has been so excited about his birthday. He decided that he wanted a Diego party with balloons, party hats, friends, ice cream and cake. We had a little party on Thursday evening with pizza and cupcakes. Then we had a few neighbors, friends and family over today to celebrate his big day. He had a really good time and enjoy having his friends over. Thank you to everyone who came over to spend the day with our sweet baby boy. Thursday night party....

Budding Artists

Thank heaven for Magic Erasers.

Biggie McBiggison

Look how big Buggers has gotten...BTW she got the shiner from a "kitchen" at Best Buy falling on her.

Hiatus

Sorry for the Hiatus. We have been pretty busy around here. Hubs took a new job which has him working around 60 hours a week 6 days a week. Plus I have my job that I do about the same. Our poor babies are parent-less. Thank heaven for grandmas. The kids and I headed to OK this past weekend to see my gramp and attend a family reunion. My sister put together a really neat movie of my grandparents and their family. It sure brought up a lot of good memories.

Next big thing on our agenda is Bubby's birthday. He turns 4 next Thursday!! He is so excited about his birthday. He is having Diego party here at the house with a few friends and family. I think I need to get an award for the "Best Birthday Party on a Budget". Once I get the final breakdown I'll fill you on my frugalness. (is that a word?)

Tough it Out

For those of you who know me well...I don't deal well when things are altered or become tough for me and my family. Hubs and I are going through some very changing times and I am struggling to deal with it all. I am going to try really hard to embrace these changes and realize that God is in control and this too shall pass. So thank you to all my friends who showed their concern and I'm sorry to the one that I hurt with that statement.

BFFs

A boy + his dog = a forever friendship

Bubby loves his Abbie. She is the first thing he asks about when he wakes up in the morning. He pets her, plays with her, feeds her off his plate, wrestles with her, checks her teeth, puts food and water in her bowl, and even reads to her.

One evening this week, Abbie was not feeling well. She was having a hard time getting around. She was diagnosed with hip displasia 4 years ago. Her hips will occasionally give her trouble if she has played alot or been wrestled with alot. You could tell that night she was struggling to get around. She was laying on her bed and I was explaining to Bubby that she didn't feel well. He immediately ran to the living room and got a blanket. He said that Abbie was sick and needed a blanket. He covered her up and sat by her side. It was the sweetest thing to see how much he loves Abbie.

Perfect Perspective

Bubby has really taken a liking to photography. It is so sweet to see what he takes pictures of. Most of them are of himself, his dog and they things that are his like his binky, toys and shoes. I just love love love this picture. It is so indicative of his perspective.

One Tree Nil

Our trees meet their match last Sunday. We had a crew from Minnesota come and cut them down. One brave soul just shimmied his way up the fallen tree and started sawing away. They cut both trees down and removed the stumps. All was done in about an hour.

The kids and I spent about 6 hours out in the backyard afterwards cleaning all the debris. They love being out in the backyard so it was very important to get everything cleared so they could play outside again. I was hoping for my little ones to be excited about lugging limbs to the front. But they had other plans...they just wanted to play. Can't blame them!!!

Clean up Clean up

Everybody...Everywhere...

The clean up crews are out in force. Everyone in the neighborhood is trying to put the pieces back together. We have only been able to clean up the front due to our tree problem in the back. We have had 3 people come out so far. One crew said they wouldn't attempt it, another quoted 1400 and another 3500. We have signed up with Texas Baptist Men for them to come out and assess our situation. They are a disaster tree service through FEMA that will do it free of charge if they think they can do it. Our neighbor has a guy coming out today also to give us a quote. Hopefully we can get it done quickly before it comes crashing down. We went to the FEMA POD site last night and got 2 cases of water and 4 bags of ice. We are going to head to a church today to get food. I go back to work on Monday which seems so far from my mind and priorities. I can't imagine people who had "real" damage how they are trying to get back to normal. We feel so fortunate and blessed to only have the problems we do because it could be alot worse.
