Not so good times

When it rains it pours here. On Thursday I found out that my grandfather has been diagnosed with lung cancer. We had suspected it for about a week but was confirmed. He goes next week to find out the course of treatment. I pray that he will be in no pain and can go about his days as he normally does. Then my BIL went to the emergency room on Friday with some paralysis to his face. Then I decided to follow suit and go to the emergency room late Friday night. I have been fighting what I thought was a stomach bug since Wednesday. I have not been sleeping at night due to my stomach cramping. I left on Thursday for my conference down in Houston. I was so disappointed that due to my stomach I was not able to enjoy the wonderful spread of food that the company provided. I struggled through the first full day of the conference on Friday. Hubs and kids came down to spend the night with me. Good thing because about 1:30 Friday night I woke up with severe stomach cramps and sick as a dog. That went on for over 2 hours before I got in contact with my mom. My mom called my sister to come get me and take me to the nearest hospital. After a very long wait, bloodwork, and an ultrasound, I was diagnosed with pancreatitis and beginnings of gall stones. The DR used a very technical term and told me that I have sludge or rubble in my gall bladder. So I have been put on a liquid diet for a day. Then a low fat diet to control the flare ups. I am so hungry since I haven't eaten anything since Friday at 6:30. But I am afraid to eat because I do not want to experience what happened on Friday again. I am making a appt. to a gastro doctor hopefully on Monday. Hopefully this will pass before too long. :(

Sorry to hear about your problems. I never saw a gastro; went straight to a surgeon. Dr. Hubbard was great if you need one. Let me know how it goes. I'll be in SC with my sister until Thursday evening.

Doctor told me that when you lose a lot of weight you usually have trouble with your gallbladder. I had the gallbladder trouble but it didn't come with the 'weight loss' part---working on that, but without a gallbladder. : )

Good luck!! I'll be praying!
