A jobing we will go....

Well hubs did it!! He landed a teaching job. He has been hired at a high school to teach geometry to kids who have not passed it in previous semesters. We went by his school today to check it out. It is huge...no mammoth might be a better word. There are about 3200 students. We checked out what will probably be his room. Jail cell comes to mind when I think of it. It doesn't have any windows and is the size of a cracker jack box with about 30 desks in it. However on the up side it does have a presentation system mounted to the ceiling and some storage cabinets. As soon as we find out for sure that it is his room, we are going to teacherize it and get it ready for his eager and willing students.

Now that hubs is working we no longer have Daddy Day Care. We have been on the day care hunt the past two days. We have interviewed 3 in home ladies and 2 daycares. Let me tell you we have been so blessed to have hubs stay home all these years. Daycare is going to cost an arm and leg. On the high end, one daycare wants $214 for Buggers and $184 for Bubby per week!!! Do you need the Heimlich since you are now choking on your cookie. Yeah almost $400 a week for daycare. Do they think all we do is work to pay for daycare?!? On the low end, in home day care is $120 per kid per week plus yearly supply fees. So we have decided on a cute little daycare that is going to charge us $150 per kid per week plus some extra added perks. We are both really anxious about puttng them in daycare. I'm not worried about Bubby I think he will love it. I'm more worried about Buggers. She does not like to be left anywhere without us. She made that very clear this summer with VBS.

Now that we have this added cost of childcare we have been trying to cut some expenses around the house. Hubs called today to see about getting rid of our home phone since only a handful of people have that number and most of those we let ring...aka 800 numbers. Anyways we were going to just go to cable and internet. However when he called they ended up knocking our bill $50 and we are able to keep our home line. So you might want to call and let your provider know you want to drop your home line and see if you can get a reduced rate. I know it has been a growing trend to only have cell phones and very few have land lines. Anyway call and give it a try. We also cancelled our dog's wellness plan. We only use it to get her shots and we can probably get them done cheap somewhere. We also cancelled our Y membership. We mostly use the swimming part and now that school is starting back up we really won't get a chance to do that. So in a matter of 30 minutes we were able to add an extra 120 bucks back into the pot. I think that is about all we can cut. We are down to bare bones now. They only luxury expense we have is Netflix. We find that is our only entertainment and we can swing the $20 a month on that subscription. I am even going to team up with a friend on GroceryGame. So that will cut down that also. Even though it is only $10 ever 8 weeks. But that equates to $60 a year. So now that will only be $30 :) Thanks Jes!!! I hope our electricity bill shows a decrease this month. We have been running our AC at 78 for a week or so. It is outrageous how much that bill is every month. And I really shouldn't complain some of my friends who have smaller houses their bill is in the 400s. Ours rarely gets over 200. We have also been eating in every meal. We went to a restaurant last week for the first time in over a month. It is easily $25-$30 every time we go out. I can make a meal here at the house for under $5 usually. Just seems useless to waste so much money. Also now that hubs and I are both going to be working, we are going to have to brown bag it for lunch. My schedule doesn't permit me next year to run out and grab a bite so I will have to do it. And hubs schedule is the same as mine so he won't either. Even though there is a sonic across the street and the extra long cheese coney will be calling his name.

How else is everyone beating the money pinch? Any suggestions or hints on how to save a dollar or two or more?

I have some pics of the kids from the past few days. I will upload them later tonight or tomorrow. They are getting so big and are so smart. Notice I said smart refering to their intelligence not their attitude. :)

Congrats to Justin on the job! This money pinch is tight. I even thought of going back full time so my benefits and daycare are cheaper but we'll make do. Good luck with the daycare - you got a good price. You'd die if you knew how much I paid.
