What will a boy do for a Popsicle?

I asked Bubby if he wanted a popsicle and he of course replied in his cute little voice "Okay". Then I followed it with the inevidable condition. "You can have a popsicle if you go potty." Much to my surprise he said ok. So I hopped up from the computer chair to follow him to the potty. But I was quickly told to "No sit down Momma right there in the chair". Bubby was very adament about going to the bathroom alone. He did not want me to go to the potty with him. Once I knew he was in the potty, I did what any mother would do...I tiptoed to the bathroom and listened by the door. Then I heard the greatest sound (well to a mother who has been trying to potty train a 3 year old) water to water contact. He finally tee teed on the potty. I ran back to the chair so he would not catch me easedropping. He then ran up the stairs I assumed to grab a Dora pull up. (Yes I know the Dora pull ups are meant for girls but he loves Dora so much I got them for him). As he came back down the stairs he yelled for me to come help. He had gone up stairs and gotten some "nundies". I of course at the moment took the opportunity to become his biggest cheerleader and praised him for going on the potty. He then got to pick out his popsicle.

This is a huge moment for us. We have been trying to potty train him in a passive manner. I did not want to force or scare him into going to the potty. I was told by several people to just let him do it on his own time. There are no kindergarteners in diapers or pull-ups. Hopefully this is the turning point and we will be on the road to "Diapers for one" pretty soon.

Way to go Aiden!!!!! I can't wait for Ava to join the Potty Team. Like you I'm not pushing it and letting her do her own thing in her own time.....our checking account hopes her timing is soon though...or we'll be joining you guys in buying to boxes of diapers in seperate sizes when we go to the store.
